Troubleshoot public page not found

Fix 404s, missing public pages, old slugs, unpublished sites, and custom domain confusion.

Overview

A public page usually returns not found when the site is not published, the slug changed, the URL was typed incorrectly, or a custom domain is not verified.

Check the URL

Key points

  • Open the public link from the dashboard instead of typing it manually.
  • Confirm the URL uses the current slug.
  • Check for extra spaces, punctuation, or uppercase changes copied into the link.
  • If using a custom domain, also test the BaseStack slug URL.

Check publishing state

Steps

  • Open the site in the dashboard.
  • Confirm it is published.
  • Publish again if you recently restored or edited the draft.
  • If it was unpublished or deleted, restore the intended state before sharing.

Custom domains add another layer

If the BaseStack slug works but the custom domain does not, review DNS records and verification status.
