Unpublish or remove a site
Understand the difference between hiding a public page and deleting site content.
Overview
Unpublishing removes public access to a site while keeping the draft available in your account. Deleting removes the site from your dashboard and should be treated as permanent unless support can recover it.
Use unpublish when
Key points
- You need to hide an outdated portfolio temporarily.
- You want to revise the site before sharing again.
- A custom domain should stop serving that page.
- You are not ready to delete the draft or versions.
Before deleting
Key points
- Export files if you need a copy.
- Save important copy or project descriptions elsewhere.
- Check whether a custom domain is connected.
- Confirm you are deleting the intended site.
Deletion can affect limits
Removing a site may free site capacity on your plan, but it also removes the editable draft from your dashboard.
