BaseStack help article
Use photos effectively
Choose profile and project images that help generated designs look polished.
Overview
Photos can make a site feel personal and editorial, but weak images can also make a design harder to read. Add images that clearly support the story you want the site to tell.
Good photo candidates
Key points
- A clear portrait with enough space around your face for responsive cropping.
- Project screenshots that are readable and not packed with private data.
- Workspace or event images that feel relevant to your role.
- Images with good lighting and enough resolution for large sections.
Avoid uploading
Key points
- Screenshots with passwords, private dashboards, customer information, or unreleased work.
- Tiny images that become blurry when used in a hero section.
- Photos where the important subject is cut off at the edge.
- Images you do not have permission to publish.
Storage limits
Profile photos support common web formats and are capped by the app upload limits. If an image will not upload, try a smaller JPEG, PNG, WebP, or GIF.
